Kratom Dizzy? Kratom Dizzyness Explained

Kratom is a popular herbal supplement made from the leaves of the kratom tree. It's used for various reasons, from boosting energy levels and improving focus to treating pain and anxiety. But did you know that kratom can also make you dizzy?

In this blog post, we'll explore what causes kratom-induced dizziness, how to avoid it, and what to do if it happens.

Dizziness

Dizziness is a frequent name for a feeling of lightheadedness, weakness, and unsteadiness that can impair a person's coordination. Dizziness can attack a person unexpectedly following an intense experience, such as a high-velocity spin or even after a lengthy vehicle ride.

Because dizziness impairs coordination and makes a person feel weak and unstable, it can be dangerous at work or in social situations. Certain factors can create dizziness, so it's critical to recognize the possible causes.

Kratom is one of the substances that can cause dizziness, often known as wobbles. However, as you may know, kratom and dizziness do not mix. You could have used kratom for weeks, months, or years and never experienced this.

Does Kratom Cause Dizziness?

The compounds of kratom in the opioid system are ultimately responsible for this dizziness phenomenon. Its two major alkaloids, 7-hydroxymitragynine and mitragynine play a significant part in kratom's opiate-like effects and cause dizziness.

The Medial Vestibular Nucleus

Opioid receptors are found in the medulla oblongata's medial vestibular nucleus. When these are activated, they can cause nystagmus, an involuntary wobbling or back-and-forth movement of the eyes. When this happens, your brain and inner ear receive the signal that your body is moving despite the fact that it is still immobile. The disparity between the actual scene in front of you and the image seen by your brain causes vertigo or dizziness.

The Vestibular Apparatus

Kratom can also produce this symptom due to its interaction with the vestibular system, an inner ear component; problems involving this are the most common causes of dizziness. It becomes activated when patients are suffering motion-related pain, such as motion sickness. The vestibular apparatus is highly complex but composed of two parts: the vestibule and the semicircular canals.

Opiates and opioid alkaloids, such as those contained in kratom, can directly activate the entire system. When this apparatus is activated, a message is sent to the brain's barfing control unit, a small area at the bottom of the brain's fourth ventricle near the chemoreceptor trigger zone. When opioids or opioid alkaloids excite the vestibular system, a variety of symptoms that resemble car sickness or vertigo to occur.

These two factors will often have a more significant impact on new users than on seasoned users. You'll get better at avoiding dizziness as you learn more about your appropriate dosage.

Which Kratom Strain Causes Dizziness?

Technically, any strain of kratom can cause dizziness. Certain types, however, are significantly more prone to cause more dizziness than others. Here's a summary of the many kratom kinds and how they can affect your balance.

Dizziness & White Kratom

White kratom is less likely to make you dizzy, but it is more likely to trigger the agitation, anxiety, and restlessness associated with excessive caffeine consumption. You might feel dizzy if you take a ridiculously large dose, but you're more likely to feel sick.

Dizziness & Green Kratom

Green kratom has more potent sedative qualities than white kratom. Therefore, consuming too much of it may cause dizziness. It will differ based on the strain. People who are more tolerant of kratom may suffer less dizziness as a result of their consumption.

It's unknown how this works, but many of kratom's adverse effects are more noticeable at higher doses and often completely absent at lower amounts. People who utilize it appear to avoid adverse side effects.

Dizziness and Red Kratom

Red kratom is the most common cause of dizziness since it has a more substantial effect on the opioid system. Anyone not used to taking red kratom and consuming too much will most likely experience wobbles.

Tips for Managing Kratom-Related Dizziness

There are several different strategies you can use to minimize the effects of kratom-related dizziness:

  • Start with a low dose – Start with a lower dose if you're just beginning your journey with kratom and gradually increase your dosage over time until you find the right amount for your body.
  • Eat before taking kratom – Eating something small before taking your dose can help stabilize your blood sugar levels and help prevent any potential dips in energy levels that could cause feelings of dizziness or lightheadedness.
  • Stay hydrated – Dehydration can be a major contributor to feelings of nausea and vertigo so make sure you're drinking plenty of water throughout the day!
  • Avoid driving – As always, it's important not to drive after consuming any type of drug including kratom since it can impair your ability to focus and react quickly on the road.
